Whether you’re seeking friendship, purpose, or a way to give back, Freemasonry — especially through St. George’s Lodge No. 15 in St. Catharines — offers a welcoming community that helps good men become better men.
Here’s why:
Lifelong Brotherhood & Friendship
St. George’s encourages meaningful relationships, hosting and attending social events like summer BBQs, golf tournaments, charity dinners, local sports events and casual get-togethers. Members are encouraged to share their hobbies and passions as these connections turn into lifelong friendships, reinforcing the Masonic principle of Brotherly Love.
Charity & Community Impact
The lodge supports causes like the Rankin Cancer Run, MS Canada, and other local causes both financially and with time, but we do so quietly without the need for fanfare and recognition.
A number of members also regularly volunteer at St. George’s Anglican Church breakfast program, while others donate blood, and others still volunteer at the hospital. By volunteering we are showing Freemasonry in action in the Niagara Region.
Rich History & Tradition
With roots dating back to 1814 and an official charter from 1855, St. George’s is one of the region’s oldest lodges. The lodge’s heritage includes influential local figures, anchoring its legacy in St. Catharines.
Leadership & Personal Growth
Between rituals, lodge roles, and educational talks joining freemasonry offers ample opportunities for leadership development. Monthly meetings with structured agendas help members with public speaking, decision‑making, and organization skills. There are always opportunities to sit on a committee, voice an opinion and to learn from those around you.
Social Engagement for the Modern Man
This “Modern Lodge for a Modern Man” is built to support today’s lifestyle.
By becoming a freemason, you’re choosing to give yourself some time to disconnect from the constant buzz of cellphones and emails, and have some time for connection and friendship with a group of men who come from all walks of life.
Convenient & Inclusive
St. George’s meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month (except July/August) at 23 Centre Street in downtown St. Catharines.
Open to men 21+, believing in a higher power, who’ve lived locally for 6 months we are proud to have a diverse membership in terms of age, race, color and creed.
